Try to protect your jewellery from accidental damage whilst it’s being worn for example from sharp blows, scratching, chemicals, sunlight and heat/cold.
Avoid wearing your jewellery whilst carrying out tasks where it might be damaged, for example when cleaning, gardening or during sporting activities.
If possible store your jewellery in a soft lined box/pouch or in the box in which your jewellery was supplied. Try to keep pieces apart, so that they don't rub together or tangle up.
Don't let your jewellery come into contact with nail polish removers, perfume, hand cream or hairspray. Avoid swimming in your jewellery as chlorine can cause damage.
Clean your jewellery regularly, Sterling silver will shine if polished with a soft cotton cloth or a jewellery cleaning cloth (always read the manufacturer’s instructions). If you store silver jewellery in a plastic airtight bag, it will be less prone to tarnishing.
